Mariana Bautista
Dance Movement Psychotherapist
Originally from Mexico City, Mariana is a Registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist through the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK (ADMP UK). Her passion for supporting others’ well-being through the use of movement and non-verbal communication in a safe non- judgmental space, forms the foundation of her work as a therapist. Currently, Mariana supports adults with difficulties such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, loss, transition or change in their lives, racial trauma, relationship challenges, self-esteem, body image, eating disorders, identity, gender inequality and other gender-based struggles. Mariana offers therapy in both English and Spanish.
Mariana completed a Masters in Dance Movement Psychotherapy in England, after being awarded the International Postgraduate Scholarship at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Over the past 10 years of experience working with children and adults with a wide range of capacity and need, Mariana has had the privilege and opportunity to live and work as an educator and therapist, in England and East Africa, besides her home country of Mexico.
Four years ago, Mariana embarked on a year-long wellbeing and spiritual quest at a Yoga and Meditation Centre in Oaxaca, Mexico; where she lived in community, volunteered, worked, studied, participated in silent meditation retreats, and offered movement psychotherapy to adults, many of whom were experiencing negative impacts from the pandemic.
This personal and spiritual journey has deeply influenced the way she supports others as a movement therapist, in a more integrative and holistic way.
For the past four years, she has been working with adults with a wide range of backgrounds, cultures and needs. Currently, Mariana offers therapy in both English and Spanish.
